Renewable energy engineering consultants move into Scotland

Dublin, November 26th 2018 – Ionic Consulting has today announced the opening of its first office in the UK. As well as providing support locally to existing and new Scottish clients, this move is seen as a clear indication of the scale of the company’s ambition. It also reflects the growing importance of the renewable energy industry to Scotland and the rest of mainland Britain.

Ionic Consulting specialises in managing both the technical elements and the stakeholders involved in the delivery of clean energy projects. With its sizeable team of experienced engineers and project managers, the company has the skill and the capacity to assist at all stages from pre-construction right through to full operation. Its range of broader technical services includes project and portfolio due diligence.

Ionic has successfully delivered numerous large-scale, high-profile renewable energy projects in the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland over the past fifteen years, originally as Wind Prospect Ireland. Following its MBO in 2016 and subsequent rebrand to Ionic Consulting in 2017 Ionic has attracted the attention of the renewable energy industry leaders in Scotland and other parts of the UK. Opening a base in Edinburgh is a logical response.

According to Ken Boyne, Managing Director of Ionic Consulting,

“We consider this the perfect moment to bring our particular brand of knowledge and expertise to an exciting new market. At this time of transition and opportunity, we believe our innovative approach to service delivery offers something new to businesses here in Scotland.”

Ionic Consulting is Ireland’s leading provider of technical services to the renewable energy industry. The company currently supports clients in areas such as onshore wind, solar PV, offshore wind and energy storage. Some of these clients are also preparing to expand into wave and tidal energy generation.
