Ionic Consulting are delighted to announce the signing of our first owner’s engineer contract in Scotland to support Statkraft during the construction of the subsidy-free Windy Rig Wind Farm project in Dumfries & Galloway following a competitive tendering process. Our thanks to all the Statkraft teams in the UK, Ireland and Norway for making the tendering and negotiation phases as painless as possible.
Ionic Consulting Managing Director, Ken Boyne said
“This will be our eighth project with the Statkraft team in recent years so it is great to see this relationship expand into Scotland at a time when the onshore market is moving into an exciting but challenging new phase of zero-subsidy projects. It also reaffirms our decision to open an office in Edinburgh in late 2018 so hopefully it will be the first of many such projects. This follows quickly on from assisting them with the installation of the first grid-scale battery in Ireland at Kilathmoy which was another first for both Ionic and Statkraft.”
This will be very much a team effort with Ionic supported by strong local partners led by Arcus Consulting who will manage the complex environmental monitoring aspects of the project. We look forward to working co-operatively with Vestas, RJ McLeod and Powersystems to deliver this project safely and to a high standard both for our client and indeed for Greencoat UK who will be the ultimate asset owner.
